Diamante Rocks a Small Venue

As you might have seen in my preview article, Diamante is a band that I have been trying to cover for a while now. I finally got the chance at the Piggy Bank Eatery and Music Hall on November 12th. When I walked into the venue, it wasn't much of a music hall. It was a smaller venue with maybe a 14x14 foot stage tucked in a corner that was about a foot tall. I knew this wasn't going to make for the best photos especially since there was a good amount of people that showed up.

Like shows in a smaller venue in the past, I chose to stay out of the way of the people that paid to see the show and tried to get what I could from the back and sides.

Caster Volor went on first and we were transported back to the big hair band days. It was a first seeing them and they weren't even announced to be on the show until 1 or 2 days before it. They brought in their own lighting along which made my job a little easier! I had a good time watching Caster Volor and it seemed that everyone else did as well.

Next up was Cold Kingdom. I wasn't even mad that I couldn't get really good photos because I was really there to listen to them again. This was the second time seeing them since their recent return and they still leave me in awe after their set. I would really recommend checking out their music. There is a lot of it on their YouTube channel. Cold Kingdom put on yet another fantastic set and I think I'm close to 20 times seeing them now!

Finishing out the night, Diamante hit the stage and kept the crowd going hard all the way through their set. Like I said, it was great to finally get to see them live. I'm not sure how often they stop in the area, but I should have tried harder to see them in the past. Diamante has a well polished live sound and you can tell the singer loves being on stage doing her thing. She plays up to the crowd the entire time and I even saw her grab some cell phones and sing to them. I'm sure those videos were interesting to watch! I got what I could for photos and then hung out toward the back to watch the rest of the set. This show really was more about the music than the photos and Diamante delivered the set that I was hopeful for!
